Pop music is apparently fifty years old this year. Fifty years of pop is an interesting Observer article listing some of the high and low-lights.
Wow, music has only been popular for fifty years? I bet the people who listened to music for uncounted millenia became really pissed off and snotty when everyone else started listening to music, because they listened to music before it became popular. I bet they wore all black and sulked a lot.
uh, it does say “pop music” and then sorta qualifies it as “rock and roll” to further define their topic.
but feel free to continue being offended on beethoven’s behalf.
