After extensive hunting years ago, I came to own an IKEA Jerker desk. To this day it’s the most useful, awesome and affordable desk I have ever seen. And to top it all off, its name is Jerker.
I always thought it was only my friends and I who loved these desks, but apparently not: BEHOLD! THE SHRINE TO THE IKEA JERKER DESK! which includes a lot of Jerker links and pictures.
i’ll have to send you a picture of my music/computer desk. it’s pretty crazy AND functional! weird.

that’s fairly similar to mine, except the monitor sits underneat the glass desk top, and you look down through the glass at it. plus a few extra doodadas
That desk is OK and all, but with no top shelf and no adjustable swinging side shelves, it’s just not a Jerker.

In swedish Jerker is a name.. just like everything else in the IKEA catalog has a name based on a swedish name =P
I am unable to get a Jerker, much to my disappointment. No IKEA in Northern Ireland, and the nearest ones (in Scotland) don’t even seem to stock the thing. Looks like a great piece of kit, and it’d be dead handy having all those higher surfaces and magazine rack things, as my place doesn’t have much floorspace for stuff.
Has anyone out there designed/built their own pc/audio recording desk/station? I realise the jerker has the a cult following and being the lemming that i am id give one a go but theres no Ikea in these here parts. Id be interested to hear from anyone who has.

I love my Jerker. I practically live in it. The only downside was the blah grey colour so I spray painted all the metal parts bright yellow. I have 4 swing side shelves plus two top shelves,magazine and CD racks and rack for my computer tower. I have a plan to buy another and construct a corner unit to link the two desks together. If I attach a hammock and cooking area I’ll never have to leave it.
I’ve been eyeing a Jerker for 2 years but the Pittsburgh store never seems to have the beech color 
What I’ve been wondering is: can one order extra parts for it? Like another top shelf (or whatever you call the narrower shelf) and another one of those swivel shelf things.
Yeah, you can buy a whole bunch of Jerker accessories. Additional swivel shelves (I own four but I’m not using any right now), a side computer stand, keyboard tray, additional upper shelf.
Soon I will have a JERKER!
Unfortunately, Ikea does not sell the jerker or it’s accessories any more. I live mine and wanted to add a second computer mount to the side for my gaming rig. Guess I’ll have to fab one up. Easy enough.
Hi, I also have a Jerker and its great. We just moved and I took it apart. Now I an reassembling it and don’t have the instructions. It’s easy enough to do but I was wondering if you had kept yours and could scan them and send them to me.
My desk was disassembled and the hardware has been lost. Does anyone know where I can get replacement hardware?
I have two Jerkers (thankfully) and have been looking for the little accessories (CD holders, magazine file holders) for quite a while now. I have to assume that the overage of accessories has been spun off to some other retailers. Anyone know of any on-line presence that has these in stock?
I have 2 different Jerker desks (the weird hexagon and the rectangle)and a side shelf unit. Great product line (like an erector set desk for young adults). If anyone is looking to part with a desk or accessories please post here. Thanks.
James - do you know if the accessories are interchangable for both Jerker models? I think the hexagonal one might be slightly less wide therefore the top shelves couldn’t be shared between them, but I’d like to be certain because I bought a Jerker with few accessories and I figured I’d have to buy another in order to put together one super desk, but if I have to find shelves to match my model that will make it more difficult because I have the rectangular one with the curved cut-out, and the hexagonal one seems to be far more ubiquitous.
i have a Jerker in very good condition i want to get rid of. if any one want to make a resonable fair offer they can have it. location in wilts uk. will need to pick up as its rather on the large size!!!!!
Why did Ikea drop this desk?
Mine just got expanded thanks to finding another on ebay. I now have 3 long shelves, 3 side shelves, PC bracket and some magazine/CD racks. I’ve not seen another type of desk that would accommodate all my computer gear so well.
Brad, I’ve enjoyed your music. Keep it up. I’m trying to get into some recording myself, but just for my own amusement for now.

I use to own a Jerker..actually im a furniture installer and a customer wanted to get rid of his old jerker so without adeu I accepted too remove it from his office..I had it for 2 years but eventually gave it to my niece who to this day loves it dearly.She’s going to university in the fall and she is taking it with her.Yup The Jerker is The Best Desk I`ve come across that is so fuctional and damn I sure do miss it…sniff sniff..Whhaaaaaaa! I want another one!!!!!

i used to have a jerker 8 years ago. unfortunately i was in a bind when moving and had to sell it to a an old coworker.
Since then ikea has had different version of it without the pull outs and less tiers.
I still miss that thing, beech and black.
I’m actually picking a jerker up this weekend…
but I’d love to get some extra swivel shelves and another long shelf or two (actually any of the accessories for this desk)… but seeing as how the desk is discontinued… I don’t know how to acquire them except asking around. =(
