Guitar designs

What to paint my guitar. A normal person might have thought of this before they stripped it down, but not me baby. Anyway I fudged up a little photoshop thing to help me try colors on. Here are some quick ones I did:

Oh I lack the talent. Anyway here’s the Photoshop PSD file if anyone wants to, uh, remix it. The source for my guitar, if you will…

The luminous pink seems somehow incredibly apt. I like the logo on it, too.

Definitely use the logo dude. That’s really cool. Myself I’d probably go with the blue one.

You could increase the size of broken neck guy and flip him so that the head was one of the knobs down there. That could be pretty neat looking.

Hells yeah, what did I say? Bradsuck’s blue or hot pink rule! LOL!

Consider changing the pickguard. Might cost a few bucks but has a BIG impact on how the guitar looks.

I’d really like to get rid of the pick guard altogether, but I’m not sure how the pickups are supposed to get mounted back in without it. Guess I’ll do some research.

Add mounting rings in its place. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Hardware,_parts/Electric_guitar:_Covers_plates/Plastic_Mounting_Rings_For_Humbucking_Pickups.html

And yeah, it’s all about the blue.

Oh sweet, thanks Paul. What’s the difference between the sizes, is that just personal preference? Not sure whether to go with 1/4″ or 7/16″…

The blue with the lighter blue guy is nice. You could experiment with different colours of similar hue.

How about some of that neato colour-changing car paint? Something like:

If you don’t do it, Lord help me, I will.

Oh, and I second using the logo. That’s rad.

That’s pretty cool paint. But I’ve been warned by many people not to use anything but Krylon, so I’m going to stick to that.

You could go either way on the pickup rings, but I’d go with the thinner ones since you’re moving from pickguard- to ring-mounted.

Brilliant ! I’ve been thinking about painting my SG for a while so I will give a try at ‘remixing’ yours. Not sure about the pink though !

I like the blue, but I’d say have a different logo color. Like maybe a red-ish something? Or switch the body and logo colors, so the body would be light, and the logo dark.

Mirage paint underneath, Krylon clear-coat overtop.

I think that a fade from the blue to the red/pink would be cool. But go with a little lighter of a blue.
