I’m just about ready to give up reading Digg and it’s not due to the latest “democracy” controversy. It’s because I’m totally tired of reading stories about Digg. So tired.
Also I’ve moved bradsucks.net to a new server. Hopefully this one won’t crash all the time.
I’ve always been partial to http://www.reddit.com, although it’s not strictly tech. news.
I dig digg ‘cuz I find all kinds of nifty stuff there I don’t have time to find elsewhere. The Digg stories are tiresome though, as are the Digg/No Digg arguments about some dude using it to pump traffic to his blog.
I gave up on Digg after I was watching Diggnation and noticed how many of the “news” stories were merely “cool links”. It’s more of a popularity contest to see who can get up on the front page than a reliable source of relevant news.
Some of the stories are interesting, but there are a lot of people that seem digg the science stuff to make it look as though they are interested or knowledgeable in that area. Maybe they aren’t really doing it for that reason, but that’s how I view it.
