I guess I missed the announcement or something, but the Metafilter Compilation Album is shipping. My song Dirtbag’s on it and there are lots of other lovely songs. All proceeds go to The Mockingbird Foundation, a non-profit that funds music education programs for kids.
Cool deal. Brad, you’re listed as “Frenetic” in the artist list page. Is that a mistake, or is that another stage name you go by?
They list everyone by their Metafilter usernames and that happens to be mine.

Brad, you came *this* close to getting a big shout out on BoingBoing.net. I sent them a submission explaining that the Toy Story 2/Requiem trailer mashup features a remix of “Dirtbag”, and that you are allowing free downloads of your album. So BoingBoing appended the post to include an update which says:
“Update: Ryan sez, “That music playing in the Toy Story 2/Requiem Trailer is a remix of a song from independent Canadian artist,
…and that’s where they accidentally cut off the rest of the information I gave them. Check it out for yourself. I tried writing them back but they never fixed it.
