Ableton Live philosophy

Sometimes the DJs get existential:

If I manually run a filter sweep over a 16 bar loop am I a musician?

Am I still a musician if I trigger an LFO to do the whole job?

Fuck yeah you are! As long as that’s not the whole song. And I’ve bought your CD, loops and all. And you know what? It’s fucking awesome. Simple but some of the best and most original music I’ve heard in a long time. That being said, who is your question directed to? I’ve heard a shit ton of music (unfortunately on Magnatune) that isn’t. Any ass-clown can build some loops and put some shit house backing vocals to it. Incorporate those “tools” into a solid song and make somebody FEEL IT,…and, well…there ya go. Rock out!
