Magnatune Music in Second Life

John Buckman has the details on putting Magnatune streams into your Second Life land. This is a great idea. Users get royalty free music for their lands, Magnatune gets promotion. Very cool.

Something I was thinking of: is there an easy way to stream podcasts into Second Life lands? That’d be another huge source of royalty free audio and would be pretty interesting. Virtual radio stations.

Yes, you can also put the url pointing to the mp3 of a podcast in the Second Life land. The only down side is that when a visitor walks onto the land the mp3 starts over, rather than a continuous stream where the visitor can arrive in the middle.

Ah that would be annoying, but good to see they can do it at least.

    Brad,

Actually, I have a podcast player set up in my pub in SL. Up to thirty streams, and it reads the raw RSS. Updates automatically. Drop me an email and I’ll get you the details, if you want them.
