I really haven’t used it much. I’m kinda confused about what sort of stuff I should be posting. Twitter seems more like an “anything goes” deal.

email’s broken and hard to use and choked full of spam though — I can see why trust networks are set up. That being said it feels like dumbass lock-in over and over again. Oops MySpace sucks, can’t export my friends, gotta start over in Facebook. Oops, Facebook sucks, can’t export my friends, gotta start over in something else.

I think there’s value to it, I think the file transfer aspect will be huge. With 10mb attachments allowed, it’ll instantly be a private P2P sharing network with all the other stuff on top.

But yes I already have more accounts than I can handle.

I just looked at that too on the Technifold site, and the first thing I thought was: “Not another social networking site”. I can already send messages, links, files, and events with this thing I have called email. And the cool thing is, all my friends have email. If you have to invite friends, it’s just a social networking site at the root of it.

I think all these sites are diluting their own effectiveness. I can barely keep abreast of my 2 websites, blog, MySpace, Virb, technorati, Flicker, et al. Some of my friends are here, some there, some nowhere. No matter how much time these sites save me, I’ve got to repeat my actions to make sure each little subgroup gets what I want them to get. Although far from pretty, email is ubiquitous, even my tech challenged 80 year old uncle can use it. I like new toys as much as anyone, but I can’t keep up anymore.
