So far there are 22 vocal recordings on ccMixter which is a decent haul. I was hoping there would be so many it would crash the Internet so here’s hoping business picks up this week!
I’ll have to give this another go. I tried recording with Audacity, but it sped up the recorded track so it was a second or so faster than the real track (and therefore out of sync most of the time) :/
Any suggestions for something that will record (on windows xp) and not screw things up?

This was a fantastic idea. Lots of fun. I wasn’t able to get time with a decent mic in time to do this. I’m looking forward to hearing the results.
I got my new mic a bit late, myself. Hopefully I’ll be able to put something together in time, but no promises. Even if I don’t do it in time, it’ll get done.
