Ready for mastering

Finished up all the Out of It mixes yesterday, moving on to mastering now. Actually I wouldn’t say “finished” I’d say more “gave up and decided to move on with my life”. Here’s hoping that’s close enough.

Album artwork is submitted to the manufacturer, deposit placed on weary credit card. Found out Digipaks take 4-5 weeks instead of 2-3 as I originally thought, though luckily I scheduled out the timeline with a few weeks to spare.

Thanks to everyone who’s been pre-ordering, it’s nice to know this isn’t all for nothing.

I’m not sure what mastering is,
    but good job.
Can’t wait for the album man!

“…gave up and decided to move on with my life.”

That’s one of the toughest parts of any creative endeavor; knowing when you’re done.

Do you outsource for mastering, or do it yourself?

My mixer fellow Rob’s doing it, with a lot of meddling from me.

I decided against blowing big money on mastering to make the album super loud. Nobody complained about the last album and I did that one all myself.

I Don’t Know What I’m Doing sounded pretty good to me, for what it’s worth. Sounded better than it would have if I’d done the mixing and mastering. Or the drum machine, guitar and keys…

    and singing.

    Yeah, I suck.

dude, can I just say…your music sounds fantastic. I’m not sure what you’re doing for mixing/mastering, but you have me beat by miles and miles. I’m NEVER happy with the way my music sounds, and I definitely can’t afford digipaks - if anyone ever bought anything, I’d get them done as well.

Just wanted to say your mixer friend Rob (long time no chat mr. cosh…)is one hell of a mixer. I’d even call him a masterer. :)

Good luck with your Out Of It, Brad. I’ve taken the liberty of blogging about it on my crappy blog, Catching The Waves, in a bid to increase your sales by, er, one. :-)
