Here’s my demo for March. It’s extra retarded:
I Command You to Be My Woman (demo) [4.5MB MP3]
The story behind it is this: my buddy JB from Songfight! asked some of his musician pals to write songs to surprise his would-be fiancee with just before he popped the question. I spent a month working on a very tender and sincere ballad and then shit-canned it at the last moment and wrote this thing.
Check out the other entries on Songfight. And I’d say wish JB good luck but she’d have to be jerk of the year to say no after everyone wrote all these songs. So I think it’s basically in the bag.

I really like the whole song, it was awesome, only part i think needs some work is a few words in the vocals, more so their sounds, haha, like the ” I ” in I command you to be my woman, it sounded like a middle eastern yelling it. Dont know why but i got that vibe from some of it, hahaha

That was the most awesome thing I’ve heard in a long time! Sometimes the extra retardedness can push a song into greatness and you’ve done it. I agree with the Ozzy thing and nothing wrong with that. Great job!

Oh, best ever best ever.
Second all the comments on the different vocal style. Ozzy mixed with… Sparks? Maybe it’s the self-consciously stupid lyrics, or maybe the really pedantic delivery.

This song.. it’s just awesome..
The beat, the guitar and the sound! Great song, great lyrics and pronunciation of the words!
This is in my opinion one of your best works, you kept that “Brad Sucks Style” but changed to a more aggressive mood.
This song also fits great to videos.. Intros, themes, etc..

It reminds me a lot of Ween, and I don’t know if you know them well, but they are fucking amazing. I’m begging you, take this sound more seriously.

And also– yes, the vocal style is actually pretty awesome, at least to me. Silly though you may think it is, it has a lot of character, and with the notable except of the random-as-all-getout “Ya-ya-yow!” before the guitar solo, it makes the song stronger than if you had done it in your usual style.

Such a great tune. I get a major Ween vibe off this. Anyway man, stumbled across you thanks to CBC radio 2’s track of the day, and I am sold.
