Does anyone here play Audiosurf? For those of you who don’t know it, it’s a music game (It’s $10, and on Steam). In it you control a little space ship and have to catch coloured blocks, that’s about as simple as I can describe it. The interesting part is that it has no pre-defined levels or music, it takes an MP3 of your choice and generates a level from it. You can see someone playing Bohemian Rhapsody here, and there are loads of other gameplay videos on youtube as well. I have a few small annoyances, like the user interface in general (it’s a bit rough), and no way to select MP3s other than browsing through directories. But I’m pretty impressed by the level generator, it’s quick and makes tracks that really go well with the music. They seem to do some deals with musicians/lables, so perhaps you could get in touch with them, Brad? See if you could get them to throw in Out Of It as free content when the new album comes out (perhaps the new album as well)? Anyway, who here has the game already? Recommend some good tracks to play! I played through the whole Out Of It + Fake It, the faster songs including Fake It were really fun to play. |

Oh interesting, looks like a combination of Guitar Hero and Tetris/Bejeweled. I’d definitely be happy to get my music in there, though no contact links or info is jumping out at me on the website. |

I never played F-Zero but I remember seeing reviews and I think you’re right. |

Yes, you can say it’s a mix of Guitar Hero, F-Zero and tile-matching. I’ve had slow down once or twice during tracks, but I’m not sure if I can blame that on the game, or other stuff I was running at the time. What annoys me more when it comes to slowness is the excruciatingly slow startup of the game, and having to click OK while it loads for almost half a minute, then having to click OK through the epilepsy warning screen, and then click Play on the totally redundant title screen (which has Play, Credits and Exit as options). I think in total it takes about 40-45 seconds for the game to get to the point where I can pick a game mode and track to play, and given how quickly it can parse music into levels, you’d think they could get that down a bit as well. But what I miss most is a way to search through my MP3s. Brad, there’s an email address listed at the bottom of their website, it’s dylan@ that domain they have, and @BestGameEver.com might work as well (that’s their company name). |

I just saw that Brad Sucks is the featured artist of the moment on Audiosurf! Hooray! Unfortunately this also means I’m getting dethroned (that’s when you have the highest score for a certain song, and someone beats it) left and right. |

Kick ass. Dylan emailed me about it and I’m looking forward to checking the game out. |

I got some ‘dethroned’ emails as well. I was sad to be dethroned, but exposure to Brad’s music is always good. |
