Hey Brad! I checked out your store and it looks great! I’m trying to use it on my site, http://www.perasite.com/bsdds/, but I keep running into a problem. Whenever someone buys something (currently that’s just me since I’m testing!) they go through the paypal process and then click to return to my site. They get the page that says
“You completed your purchase, hooray!

download your purchases”
But the link just points to “http://www.perasite.com/?userid=”

They are not able to download anything. I’ve setup the config file and the items.ini to point to the bsdds/downloads/ directory. Can you offer me any advice?

Hmm. There was a bug regarding this but I’m pretty sure I fixed it.

In your Paypal user profile, can you go to Website Payment Preferences? I believe “Auto Return” and “Payment Data Transfer” should both be on.

PDT was off, so I can turn that on, but what url should Auto Return point to?

Brad

Auto return shouldn’t matter as the BSDDS script specifies that (I think).

When I read your question I thought you were only having problems with the userid not being specified — it’s not doing to the correct directory either?

Actually, after thinking about it, then you are right. BSDDS does return to the right spot with Auto Return. I will test with PDT on. Thank you for your advice.

Also you might want to grab v0.11 that I just uploaded. Fixed a typo in notify.php that would most likely break things.

Im having this exact problem as well.

“download your purchases”
But the link just points to “http://www.mysite.com/?userid=”

Also i only seem to be able to use the paypal cart, when trying to use the “BSDDS” cart option its jumps to the top level of my site to try to find the cart instead of the store root i’ve specified in the config.php

does:
http://www.mysite.com/cart/cart.php

instead of:
http://www.mysite.com/downloadstore/cart/cart.php

using v.011

thanks

follow up:

This was a problem with my paypal acount.

I had a a regular paypal account and upgraded to a premier to use the store. I logged into my paypal account and it appeared that the upgrade was complete, i was able to enter all my website related info(IPN,PDT,autoreturn, etc) in the paypal profile. When testing BSDDS the paypal check out would let me pay however when auto forwarded back to my store from paypal, no info was being posted.

After hours of trouble shooting, I noticed a new email in my inbox from paypal telling me to “activate” my account, the same account I’ve had active since 2001. Upon following the URL in the email , my store began working imediately.

the cart issues were resolved by modifying the reference in the PHP to include the store directory in the path and if I remeber correctly a few other paths needed updated with the “store” directory in the PHP scripts as well.

Although its a bit buggy and needs a bit of tinkering to get working properly, the store is very cool. Thanks!

Thanks for the update, thudclak. I’ll look into those path issues, sounds like it probably varies depending on the PHP/server configuration.
