Bad Religion have been my #1 favourite band for as long as I’ve been really into music, but I’ve not been listening to them much recently… My list of absolute favourite artists (I don’t like that term. but they’re not all “bands”) is as follows, in no particular order:

Bad Religion
Miles Davis
Yoko Kanno
The Delgados
Ben Folds
Sheryl Crow
Propagandhi
Greenskeepers
MC Frontalot

The Clash
Fall Out Boy! Durr! ‘cuz I’m so totally emo! (If this was Dilbert. I’d have “the lips” going)
Panic! At the Disco’s pretty good, and Killing Joke’s latest album is awesome (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000AGWK8/sr=8-3/qid=1151974115/ref=pd_bbs_3/002-5507861-6178436?ie=UTF8)
More coming soon, just gotta go now.

Spanish Castle Magic is on Guitar Hero, and the take out the vocals, and it sounds good that way. Also, in one of our four music stores in Ithaca, there’s a framed picture of the cover of South Saturn Delta. Maybe it’s signed or something. I haven’t bothered to check.

Mm. Interpol. The Shins. Good stuff.

I’ve been listening to a new (to me) band this week: They’re called “She Wants Revenge”. Kind of a gothy pop throwback with influences from Joy Division and Depeche Mode. It’s quite awesome.

I think I will cue up Franz Ferdinand’s recentest album.

Camera Obscura is very good.
Bishop Allen is coming to Detroit next month and I’m quite excited.

@darg: I agree with your choice in the Dresden Dolls. They’re just amazing.

I also bought the Morningwood album, but was a little diapoointed with it. You seem to like a fair bit of the same music as me… Or rather, I look at your list and think “oh yeah. I haven’t heard them for ages!” Oh, and The Hives are awesome.

Anyone like Lemon Jelly?
Garbage?
They Might Be Giants?
Brad Sucks?

That’s enough from me. Just got home from work and it’s 6 in the morning. 8- <- That’s “bug-eyed caffiene me.”

Building: I’ve never listened to Camera Obscura but remember hearing their name before in a positive light. I’ll add them to my list of music to check out.

Ashley: I have a couple of Lemon Jelly albums in my collection. It’s decent electronic stuff and kind of funny.

happymissm

Air, Ben Lee, An Pierle, Castione for the painfully alone, stars, fischspooner, the faint, freezepop (Love them!!), her space holiday, the postal service, viva voce, cool calm pete, plecostomus, I also thought Dynamite Hack was pretty good…. but even saying that makes me feel old :)

Happymissm: A lot of your favorite bands I’ve never heard of, but the Faint, Fischerspooner (I belive it’s Fischer, not Fisch) and the Postal Service are all good, and I’ve only heard two, three songs by Freezepop, but they are awesome.

Ashley: “Anyone like Lemon Jelly? Garbage? They Might Be Giants? Brad Sucks?” Never heard of Lemon Jelly. Garbage is good. TMBG is AWESOME (saw them live at a free show promoting the Spine album, which rocks), and why would I be here if I didn’t like Brad?

Brad

I’ve been hooked on Junior Senior lately.

Brad: I want to hear their new stuff. We have their D-D-Don’t-Don’t Stop the Beat album, and they have a new single out, but where can I hear it?

She Wants Revenge is pretty good. Very much like Interpol.

Anyone like Interpol?

July 14, 2006 at 6:37 pm #3474

Ashley

I don’t so much like Interpol. That video clip with the dead puppet thing really creeps me out.
