I’ve always been into writing music and self-production, and a few years back I discovered Brad sucks, and I just decided that it needed to be a goal of mine to produce an album and try to get it published.
Well, I thought I’d post a thanks here publicly for the inspiration that brad gave me, since his indie path seems to be working out alright for him, it gave me encouragement that I could do something similar.
I have submitted my first album to magnatune and await a response. I’m hoping they like it!
Hello everybody!

Drat! Magnatune rejected me. Anybody have some ideas? I would like to get my music out there, but I’m really stuck at this point, not really sure what to do..

Well you could start with a Myspace or Youtube channel.
I still like the idea of creating a video or something that will go viral and attaching a song to it. Worked for the Sick Puppies.

Just get yourself online and put your music out there. Share it, promote it, etc. Magnatune would have been a bit of a boost but nothing you couldn’t do yourself.
There’s a book I’m interviewed in that’s worth a read (not just because I’m in it, but that made me read it): http://www.indieguide.com/
It’s a pretty good primer on what you should be focusing on in my opinion. (I don’t get any money for the book sales.)
