This music is really good, and quite accessible too. I get the whole ‘free music for everyone’ point of view, but Brad has said himself he’d like to create his life from music money so why doesn’t he get signed and take the next step? Or am I missing something?

Is getting signed the next step?

Good point, I suppose it depends on what you want. But you’ve got heaps of talent m8, why wouldn’t you pursue a record deal? You could make a living doing the thing you love right? I really can’t get enough of your music it’s fantastic. I’m in a band at the moment and we’re going to be the best band in the world so perhaps if you do I’ll see you at the Grammys some day! :D
Do you think you will ever pursue a record deal, and if not- why not?

Hey thanks man, much appreciated. Uhh well, a ‘record deal’ in my mind basically means ‘high-interest loan’ and I don’t like that shit anywhere. Not credit cards, not mortgages, not record deals.
I make OK money on the music right now so I don’t have any complaints there. I’d definitely love to have some better resources but I don’t know how to get there from here. One thing I’d love is if there was more of a service industry for artists. Where I could easily hire out promotion/booking/etc.

Hey dude, that’s pretty interesting. Could you explain to me a little bit about what you mean by record deal = high interest loan in your mind? I don’t really get where you’re coming from and as a fellow unsigned musician it’s a pretty interesting topic, I’d love to know what you think.
In Dublin we have a pretty great live music scene and we have quite a good bit of unsigned band resources if you’ve got some cash and/or recognition to make use of them. Would you ever consider moving to a country with perhaps a better music scene which has more of a ‘service industry for artists’ as you put it, for a while and try spread your music from there?
