I started playing on a borowed guitar a while ago but i guess that didn't really work out, but maybe it will in the future. Also I've decided I want to learn how to play a ukulele too. I actually almost bought one before I decided this when I saw a nice looking one for only sixty euros at a shop in Amsterdam but then I realised I didn't (and still don't) even know what to look for when looking at a ukulele so I decided to wait until I know a bit more about that. So for now it's just guitar I guess.
cool i have a friend who plays ukelele do you want me to ask him about it?
Guitar ofc :D. I'm going to get some better than this shit that I have now.
What more, I want to get some skills in keys (you know like keyboard, synthesiser, ya know?).
Heh and I have a pretty shitty voice too ^^.
jacobtasque1995: yeah please do, maybe he knows a good site or something or what to look for in a ukelele. Btw I believe my awesome memory knows that Brad used to play one too if i remember correctly.
Jimi: it's really cool if you can play the keyboard a little, when you're at a party and people start jamming a bit it's usually just people with guitars and that's cool already most of the time but if there's a keyboard there too it can get really cool. A friend of mine plays keyboard and sax and I've seen this happen my self. That jam session continued all night till something like 7 in the morning. Personally I think guitar-like instruments are just more my thing I guess but that's just me.
I play keyboard instruments. Used to play quite profesionally, but drifted off two years ago. I'll probably get back to that.
I also have an acoustic guitar I pick up every one or two days for five minutes, being an unhappy slave of the computer. Right now I know a few chords (can't take barre chords and have trouble with switching fast, but that's normal since I barely practise) and play melodies pretty decently. I also want to upgrade to an electric guitar some day, but that doesn't seem to be any time soon. I spend way more time on drooling all over these websites and doing other unrelated crap than practise.
By the way, can anyone explain to me what's the difference between acoustic and classical guitars? From Wikipedia it seems that classical guitars are types of acoustic guitars, other types being lap-steel and others, but if so, why everyone says "acoustic guitar"?
To put it simple: classic guitar have nylon strings, acoustic guitar steel strings. Effect is that acoustic sound cool and it's well known as a unplugged guitar sound, classic guitar sounds... I like to call it 'Spanish sound'... it gives you more soft tones, but for me, it's crap...
What more, acoustic and classic have another tuners (acoustic ones looks like normal electric guitar tuners, and classic well I don't have enough English skills to explain this)...
Gotcha. Tuners on classical guitars point upwards, while ones on acoustic guitars point to the sides.
...Shiver me timbers, I think that defines my guitar as classical.
I play bass. :)
and to some extent guitar and drums.
but i only play bass considerably well enough to say i actually play it, if you see what i mean, like i play bass in a band, and could never do that with guitar or drums.
I played piano (classical) through college, trained in my peak by a kick-ass monk, used to be pretty damned good but decided to support myself as a computer programmer - there are many days I regret that. I actually just played for a couple hours, first time in months and was surprised the fingers still knew what to do. I tried to learn guitar and just found myself dumbfounded with the notes/scales, but LOVED to find cool chords and often played for youth retreats and the like. If I had to do it over I'd learn to play bass, with the piano background I think I could've done better there. Also used to play a mean trombone. All fun things I wish I had more time to do....
I play trumpet guitar and drums, I like guitar the most though, oh and i really like synthesizers :p
i play guitar, bass(i LOVE bass), drums (although never played drums well enough to actually consider playing them in a band) and keys/piano. ive been meaning to play banjo for years but never got around to it even though someone was going to trade me lessons for teaching them html. there's so many things to learn everyday, its hard to find the time and $$$. :)
Bass is the most awesome and underrated instrument of all time.
Like you can just have bass and drums and succesfully make a song of any genre.
Im gonna throw in some not spam for websites...As in above comment
I play guitar considerably well, I play some bass, just basic though for recording a simple bass line in a song. I don't play drums, thanks to FL Studio for the drum kits, lol.
I also makes a lot of Trance/Techno/Other stuff in FL Studio when im not feeling creative enough to make an actual song with real instruments.
My band is "The Kaws"
im finished here
I play the guitar, piano, violin, and clarinet. I play a little viola as well but that is pretty easy considering I play violin. I also play the ocarina if you count that XD
Although my dad is a professional flautist, I'm still learning the basic notes. At present I have the Yamaha Flute YFL-461, which I purchased from Hyson Music at a price that nade my friends go green with envy.
Classically trained French horn player (currently not playing :_( ). Can play a recorder decently, party guitar (the classical guitar is a bloody difficult instrument that I wouldn't dare say I can play) and some survival piano.
I play guitar.Got 2 of them Acoustic and Electric.Always wanted to try play drums ) and bass guitar
25 years ago I bought a bass guitar and mainly spent years noodling. I tried learning covers and never really enjoyed it so I just kept working on melody. This last few years I kept trying to get into bands or find people to work with and it just never worked. I taught myself how to record and then I taught myself drums/keys and 4 strings on my acoustic guitar. I think the hardest thing for me is to sing and have people hear my voice, I think I sound awful but I've had some people make some nice comments and I just keep plugging away.
