you can make “keyword searches” in Firefox by right clicking on a textfield in a webpage (say. the search field in YouTube). and selecting “Add keyword for this search…” It’ll bring up a special bookmark dialog and ask you to enter a name for the bookmark. a word for the keyword and the location in your bookmarks. To use it. click in the Location bar (that’s the address bar) and type “keyword search terms” (without the quotes). Like. if you gave the YouTube field a keyword of “yt”. you could type “yt britney spears” and it’ll take you there with all the magical videos of your favorite. has-been pop tartlet. There’s also an extension called SearchWords that’ll let you add keywords for your existing search engines. If this all sounds overly complicated. once you’ve figured it out. they’re really easy to use. I have a couple dozen keyword searches that I use all the time. There are also these. which are pretty neat: Bookmarklets. PS. I totally went off-topic there. IE7 is an improvement over IE6 but they still cause breakages on certain webpages. Also. I think it looks like ass. though marginally better on Vista. |

Windows Media Player 11 is the same way. It looks like they used the same ideas from IE7 for WMP11. |

Good god. MS makes some confusing products. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about Windows. more so than most people I know. IE7 just has a bad UI. but is workable. WMP11 is craziness. though. You can’t even access the menu bar without right-clicking a nuetral spot. It took me 30 seconds to find this out. I can’t imagine how long it would take somebody less experienced. Or maybe I’m just an Apple fanboy :P |

Actually. I found out recently that you can bring up the old file menu in the options section. Or something. |

Of the internet browsers. I think that Safari is the worst. Have to use that on the school computers. |

What’s with the Firefox hate? Next to Camino. it’s my favorite browser. Hell. even Safari is significantly better than any IE. I had to deal with Mac OS 9 throught Middle School as well. Painful stuff :P. |

I really want Firefox now that I’ve heard of this plug-in that allows you to download any video off your web browser (like from YouTube). Reasons I hate Apple: |

I hate to say it but I’ve actually lately been thinking about switching from Firefox to IE 7 for my day-to-day web browsing. It’s really so much faster than Firefox. it’s sort of ridiculous. The only thing holding me back is that I can’t live without all my wonderful extensions. |
