Any chance you could make music available as flac (via torrent?) and ogg vorbis? Even the source for music isn’t available in a lossless format!

um and Brad if you give us $100 per free download for the inconvenience that would be great too! lol:)

FLAC versions are sold (per song here and whole albums on Magnatune), and the stems are way too numerous to contain as lossless files, especially on ccMixter. You have to pay for quality recordings, you audiophile, you.
As for Vorbis, there used to be such an option, but Brad gave up on it because only a few people bought the files. You can find Brad Sucks on Jamendo and try your luck downloading the Vorbis torrents, but there are usually little to no seeds. Again, Vorbis is also available on Magnatune, and it’s likely to be encoded in higher quality there.

Yep, great reply Litis. I had OGG before but it was a bit of a hassle + extra work to offer and barely anyone actually bought or downloaded it. FLAC is lossless and can be converted to anything you want so I figure that covers all the bases.

As for the source, Litis is right again — the bandwidth is an issue for offering lossless source files. If someone else wanted to deal with the hassle I’d be willing to do that.

Though I should say you’re one of maybe two people who have demanded lossless source files so it’s not high on my list.

I would like to see source files in FLAC format, as well, but I can certainly understand why that could be a problem, particularly because of bandwidth.

The source files are available in WAV off the website here — isn’t that the same deal?
