Well I think I tried to stay away from Rock Band so long because I knew I was going to like it so much. Sadly, I just got my first taste at a buddy’s house. Man that is the goods. I played lead on Creep, played bass on Coulton’s Still Alive, and sang Weezer’s Say It Ain’t So (all on the easy level; babysteps, people). I was actually really impressed to see that three people can play together simultaneously, all on different difficulty levels, and all have an awesome time. Speaking as a MarioKart veteran from way back, that is like a really big deal in multiple-dude-video-game-experiencing. Is there a thread for this already? Sorry if there is. I did have a couple beers and may have missed it. |

I’m not sure if we talked about Rock Band at all, but there’s always room for more. I’ve had one session with it with some friends and it was a blast. The separate difficulty levels is really brilliant. There was a hardcore dude there doing drums on difficult so us newbs could plod away on easy. I’m not sure I’d buy it — I don’t have enough friends for such a party game, but it’s definitely some fun. |

The game was alot of fun, but maybe we rocked to hard cause we broke the guitar that came with it and broke the foot pedal on the drums. I did really liked the, “CREATE A CHARACTER” and band logo. The only thing I didnt like was the fact that you had to play through songs multiple times to unlock new ones. Boo. |

my friend came over and we played it hours on end, the drums are so much fun, we even managed to hook the set up as a midi controller, triggering drum sounds. speaking of rockband though, have you guys seen the new guitar hero game, drums and all. http://www.guitarheronews.com/ theres a trailer there I guess it looks neat becuase you can have a freeplay mode, where you can just jam on drums and assign scales notes or chords to the guitars. still i think playing the real guitar is better but…whatever. |

oh shit thats right, I just read about that. The drums look sweet and I heard you can slam on that thing and it wont break. Its kind of weid naming it, “guitar hero” when there are other instruments. Oh well. |

I have played Rock Band extensively over the last few months, mostly just grabbing all the friends I know and many times just going at it alone. I tackled the drums as I’m trying to learn the guitar for real, and can say that they can be extremely difficult on some songs. I can finally beat a selection of songs on expert (black hole sun being the most fun), though. |

Played way too much with a couple of friends over the weekend. I am now the lead guitarist for Scheissenfiesta (out of Berlin, of course). Long gig in Stockholm, everyone’s tired, then for the closing number the machine drops us into Rush’s “Tom Sawyer”, a brand new song we had never practiced (maybe we unlocked it during the gig?). A couple of close calls, a couple of saves, and we got all the way through it on the first try. I was so proud of my bandmates. And I have a blister on my thumb from wailing so hard on the guitar. This is awesome and embarrassing at the same time. My current favorite songs to play: “Here It Goes,” “When We Were Young,” “Mississippi Queen.” Also “Maps,” but just because it’s kind of easy and we nail it every time. |

Mississippi Queen is super fun. Say It Ain’t So was pretty fun when I played. I was doing vocals and couldn’t help but get into it. |

Tracklist for Rock Band 2 (September release date): http://kotaku.com/5025004/official-rock-band-tracklist-revealed Finally, a Talking Heads track… The Rock Band 2 instruments are said to be better too, so I may wait until then to buy a wireless guitar. |

I’ve been tempted by Rock Band a few times but I’ve still resisted. We’ll see about Rock Band 2. That’s an awesome list of songs. |

If I can save up enough money, I’ll buy Rock Band 2 with the drums, guitar, and mic, and buy just the disc of the original, seeing as it’ll probably be cheap by then. |

I convinced my friend to buy Hysteria by Muse for Rock Band. Totally worth it. It’s my favorite song out of all of them on there to play. I play guitar. |

Yep, the Rock Band thing was supposed to be a secret but I guess Front’s talking about it so it’s out of the bag. |
