I found out through Jonathan Coulton’s post about the Out of It vocals request from Bradsucks. Listened to some music, and now am hooked.

ive been trying to remember for months how i found brad. i cant seem to, i think it must have been ccmixter (or was it the other way around). but i know for a fact i found joco through brads site. i finally saw the athene site everyone is talking about. i know i was definitely looking for unsigned artists in that period though.

Found this on a friend of a friend of a friend’s blog… think it was called “Toner Mishap.” Great music! At what point do you change to Brad Does Not Suck?

I downloaded a pirate copy of Reaper v2.2 and ‘MakingMeNervous’ was the sample project song.I immediately Googled all over myself and wound up here.

So, I didn’t think I’d be posting here; I don’t do that sort of thing all that often. But I’m amused enough to post, now. I’m a huge cover freak, and Coverville just linked to you, with a note that you’d released a bunch of covers for the low price of “sign up on your email list”. I was sold. Turns out the SOS cover I came for was actually ABBA, not Rihanna like I thought, but whatever, I’ll take whatever.

Anyway, by that point I saw you’d released parts files of everything, which always grabs my attention – when I see that, I can’t just grab the covers and run, I have to stay and listen to a few originals, see if it’s worth downloading the parts files to fiddle with. But, as it turns out…

As it turns out, the second song I clicked randomly to preview, I’d heard before. Was it a cover of something? It took me a minute to figure out where I’d heard it. Yup, that Toy Story / Requiem For a dream trailer mashup from a while back. Looks like I’m not the first one to post that; I just assumed, not having ever seen Requiem For a Dream, that that song came from there. Was a great song, I just never bothered to track down the source. Now I have to buy your stuff!

A persisting love for Freezepop led me to Future Boy’s Blipcore for the Dancefloor Vol 1. Volume 2 came out in March of 05, but I don’t think I was following Future Boy very closely at that point, so I didn’t wind up listening to it until, I think, January of 2006. Unfortunately, I still don’t think I’ve listened to the whole mix, because I kept skipping back to listen to Borderline again. Then, this summer, I switched to Ubuntu, and, looking at this Magnatune thing on my Rhythmbox, was delighted to find Brad Sucks there. I probably could have just said Magnatune, and avoided filling everyone in on the exact depths of my stupidity and blindness, but where’s the fun in that?

One of my roommates downloaded the song “Livin’ on the Corner of Doom and Catastrophe” for Rockband by M.C Frontalot and it featured Brad Sucks. Later that night I looked up who Brad Sucks was as I had never heard of such an artist and was pleasantly surprised with my findings.

I Don’t Know What I’m Doing was one of the higher rated Canadian albums on jamendo.com – gave it a try.
