Got you on there now. My one month of Xbox Live gold expired so I just ponied up for a year.

Got Gears of War for Christmas, so far it’s so-so. Combat stuff is pretty rad but it’s sorta relentless and tiring.

Mario Galaxy is awesome though.

I’ll probably spring for another game sometime soon, not quite sure what though.

I don’t remember if it was talked about on another forum already, but Mass Effect for the 360 is pretty good. Very deep and broad story, very nice graphics.

Same kind of thing as Knights of the Old Republic, which I didn’t love as much as everyone else did, but ME is slowly pulling me in.

Also my Xbox just froze up for no reason, so I’m gonna take a break and let it cool down a bit. Man I hope I don’t get the Red Ring.

ya know, I was wondering if people who play in actual bands like to play Rock Band? That game is fun and shit, but if you have actually played infront of a live audience with real instruments with strings instead of buttons, does playing infront of a TV screen make is seem dumb? Kind of like the SIMS. I live my life and it was not too much fun playing a video game character that has to cook and clean and pay bills. But Rock Band is fun for someone like me, with no musical talent.

I haven’t played Guitar Hero or Rock Band but I’m assuming it’d still be fun for musicians. It’s just a whole different thing. Plus even if you play covers it’s still not the same as fully pretending you’re playing the songs you grew up listening to.

buildingonfire: I’ve heard good things about Mass Effect but I’m not sure I’d really dig it. I wish they had a demo on Xbox Live. I think the demo of BioShock convinced me not to bother with it (at least until it’s super cheap.)

My vote on a good game for XBox 360 would be Call of Duty 3 Or 4. The are great on or Offline.
As for the Xbox Breaking down. I have one right now that will not read the CD. I am going to take it in and have it looked out. Hopefully it will not be one of those situations where it is cheaper to buy a new one.

building on fire, ya know, I gotta agree with ya, I just beat mass effect not too long ago and that game was, extremly fun and addicting. I felt kind of bad though when I would go through conversations with people and tell them to go to hell, and they react to it. Its almost like your actually talking to them, its weird as hell. Not really a good action game, but its not suposed to be. Just a fun awsome game. Does have some sweet action parts. Just a sweet game.

I’ll be able to (and will) get a 360 sometime after my birthday on the sixth. I don’t have any friends with a PS3, my sister got a PS2 a couple weeks ago, and I personally would rather have a 360 than a Wii. I know the 360, its games, controllers, and online service are all more money than the Wii, but I don’t care. All my friends are bugging me about when I’m gonna get one, and if I get a Wii instead, they’ll all want to play that, all the time.

I think you should go with the 360. i have both a 360 and a wii and i would rather play my xbox than my wii any day. the wii can be good for parties but other then that i find it doesn’t offer much

My question for people with PS2′s/PS3′s: do have your fingers on the shoulder buttons, or not? Because my first video game console was an original Xbox, so I got used to putting my index fingers on the R and L buttons.

I would say it comes down to the type of games you like to play. I’ve got a PS3 for three specific reasons: Blu-Ray (which has now become the acknowledged next-gen format for video) builtin and futureproof due to firmware upgrades; Linux friendliness (I am a developer at heart and enjoy squeezing all of the capabilities out of my systems that I can); the focus on huge, expansive PPG games versus the 360′s somewhat limited selection. I’m not a huge fan of FPS’s.

I have a Wii as well, which I love except for one thing: it’s hurts like heck to play it for a long time until you remember that you’re not actually “hitting” that tennis ball. Your joints suffer otherwise.
