CC Mixter

CC Mixter is a site for material under Creative Commons sampling licenses. It allows artists to post their samples for collaboration and use in remixes/mash-ups. They've got some samples on there from the Creative Commons licensed songs included in Wired Magazine's November 2004 issue. I uploaded a highly compressed version of the sample set for Making Me Nervous and I'll probably do more when I get some time.

Happy Podcast Day

It is my birthday today. I am old now. In other news, I bought a new sound card last week (M-Audio Delta 66) which will hopefully kick my recording setup into action again. I started reorganizing everything over two months ago and got sidetracked and have been kinda stuck. Hopefully that's behind me now, like so many years of my life.

Here are some podcasts that wrote to let me know they're going to play my stuff: Hardcore Insomnia Radio, Game on the Street, and I should be in the Indiefeed Alternative/Modern Rock channel sometime soon. You are all awesome and I salute you.

Update: Also being played on Michele's Freeminding. Cool stuff.

Adam Curry's Daily Source Code

Hey awesome, my track Dirtbag was played on Adam Curry's Daily Source Code podcast for November 10th and Adam himself said some nice stuff about me. That's pretty kick ass and hello to anyone coming in from there. (Check out my album, all the mp3s are there!) He also mentioned that I'm being played on some other Podcasts as well (Dave Slusher and Promiscuous Bullet), which is hella cool and I've been getting some email from other Podcasters. If you're playing my stuff on your Podcast feel free to drop a line and I'll try to throw a link out to you or something.

MSN Search Beta

The Beta MSN Search Engine is online now. I'm probably biased due to getting flown to Seattle to see and mouth off about it before it was released, but I think it's extremely competitive with Google. An interesting (and a bit controversial inside the group) aspect is that when you search for musical artists an ad for the artist on MSN Music comes up and it lets you stream clips from the most popular songs right from there.

(Oh, and they have a blog too.)
