Next Thursday (the 17th) at 8pm EST I'm gonna do a little private Zoom concert thing with my guitarist/keyboardist Ben Mullin. We'll be hanging out and chatting and playing some old and new Brad Sucks songs. I've never done a thing like this before so I can't promise it'll be good, but it should at least be a good time.
Tickets start at $10 and there are only a hundred available. Get ‘em here!
Just released! Super fun Acid Beat remix of Dropping out of School from my Brazilian friends over at Monkey in Space Records. I love it, it makes me laugh and is probably better than the original. Streaming everywhere now!
My old (classic?) cover of Goodbye Horses goes live today wherever you stream music! I recorded it in 2010 as a request and it’s been low-key popular but never officially released. I recently dug it out and cleaned it up and is now on my permanent record. Check it out on Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and other services.
If you could give it a heart, a like, a playlist, a fave or whatever, that’ll help it contend on the streaming services in these dark algorithm times.
ALSO the lyric video for Goodbye Horses (thanks to @sisc_daily for the artwork) goes live on Youtube at 2pm EST today and I’ll be there chatting, come hang!
The completely remastered I Don’t Know What I’m Doing on color vinyl is now available in the store if you didn’t get in on the crowd-funding this summer.
Also available are the I Don’t Know What I’m Doing “boat guy” enamel pins if you want to scoop one of those up.
Thank you!
Hey all, “Lonely” the song from Bee and PuppyCat Season 1, Episode 8 is now available on all music services: Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon, Bandcamp and more here.
I also put a lyric video for it on Youtube
Thank you for listening 🖤
It’s my Patreon Anniversary this month and I wrote a little update about what I’m gonna be working on for the next while.
Holy smokes, the I Don’t Know What I’m Doing vinyl campaign reached 101% funded in just eleven days! Thank you so much everyone, it means a lot to me that there’s enough interest in this little record that I’ll get the chance to revisit it and issue it on fancy vinyl. Your support over the years warms my brittle indie musician heart 🖤
The campaign’ll still be running for another 50 days and the records’ll ship in early November, so you can still get in on it if you’d like one here: https://igg.me/at/idkwid-vinyl
Until then, I’ll be over here working on the remaster and packaging design and of course new songs for my upcoming fourth LP. Thanks again 💕
Hey! I’m doing a crowdfunding/pre-order thing to press my record I Don’t Know What I’m Doing on vinyl. I’ve got some rewards including some sweet enamel “boat guy” pins:
Records will ship in November! You can check out the campaign here. Thanks so much for listening to and supporting my little album all these years ❤️
The Out of It tenth anniversary vinyl is in the house and they look sweet and also sound sweet. Weird to think I made that record ten years ago. Preorders are 99% shipped so if you order now it’ll be in the mail to you within a week. Grab one in my store or on my Bandcamp page.
Better Than Nothing vinyl is still available as well if you want the entire Brad Sucks vinyl collection while supplies last. Be sure to include a note with your order if you want ‘em signed (by me).

Hello there, after several years of procrastinating, I've started a Patreon. It's a website where you can sponsor independent creators and get access to exclusive content and stuff. I'll be posting songs I'm working on as well as writing as much as people want to hear about them as I try to finish the next album.
The first song's about psychedelic mushrooms as antidepressants. It's called Fun Guy -- I threw it on Youtube so I could maybe lure you into sponsoring me on the Patreon, let's see if it works:

I wrote this song for the show Bee & PuppyCat. The creator Natasha Allegri sent me a tragic story about an octopus who falls in love with a lost princess. She wanted a song for it and I came up with this one. Watch the full scene here (at 1:20).
If you’re looking for a shirt with the I Don’t Know What I’m Doing cover art on it, you’re in luck! Now available in t-shirts and also women’s tank tops in the shirt store.
Hey there, so Brad Sucks was scheduled to play Smiling Buddha in Toronto on August 18th. I have to cancel that show as I’ve learned one of the owners was charged with sexual assault and many people have expressed concerns about patronizing a venue that may harbor unsafe actors in the music community. I tried to find another venue for that night but was unable to. My apologies for the inconvenience, I’ll figure something out and we’ll be back to Toronto soon and hopefully I’ll see you there! Thanks!
Well holy shit guys, it's been ten years since I released Out of It, my second album. To mark the occasion I'm releasing a fully remastered limited edition vinyl. It's available for pre-order now and it'll ship in September. Order it here (scroll down and click on Buy Record/Vinyl). Include a note if you want yours signed! I don't mind and it makes me feel like a big important guy.
Upcoming Shows
Ottawa, you were kind to me as usual and did a great job tolerating all the new songs we played. Let's see how these other cities do, though:
Montreal, QC - July 6th: Quai des Brumes Toronto, ON - August 18th: Smiling Buddha
Please come out to these -- I'm very easily discouraged!
New Shirts
There’s a fresh new shirt store! Plus by popular request there's some I Don’t Know What I’m Doing men’s and women’s shirts you might like?
Fun fact: the I Don't Know What I'm Doing album art is by Allen Henderson and he hosts a podcast about movies and history called Midmost Coast, check it out!
Other Stuff
I scored this cute little animation that Pendleton Ward made:
That's all I got for now, working on a lot of stuff I hope I can show you soon. Hit me up on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram! Til next time,
Brad brad@bradsucks.net
If you're looking to get yourself a copy of Better Than Nothing (my completely un-earned 'greatest hits') in vinyl and/or digital formats, you can get those in my store or over on Bandcamp. There are about 200 records left and after that they're gone (unless I decide to press more, but the record will look different.)
If you want the record signed, just include a note with your order and I'll scrawl on it.
The vinyl and the digital versions were remastered separately from each other and from the original unmastered mixes, so I think they sound pretty, pretty good. I'm considering remastering all three records now to bring 'em up to the level of this digital release, but that's a battle for another time.
Happy holidays and thank you so much for supporting me through the three records that led to this release. I'm doing my best to make the fourth one decent for y'all.
I've been getting lots of photos and messages telling me people are getting their Better Than Nothing records which makes me super happy, thanks you guys. I keep starting to write something about how humbling and emotional it is to feel so supported after like a decade and a half of making songs, but then I feel dumb and delete it. So, like, thank you? The vinyl release party's November 17th in my hometown of Ottawa. Hope to see you there! Here's the gig poster by Geoff Gibson (@sisc_daily) who also did the awesome Better Than Nothing album artwork.
Copies of my greatest hits (and first ever) vinyl 'Better Than Nothing' arrived last night and it looks sweet!!
You can still order it here: https://bit.ly/2tfIDid
Also the vinyl release show's on November 17th in Ottawa at Irene's if that's for some reason something you'd be into.
